Art critic, publisher and gallerist Mat Gleason on Benni Korzen
Saturated color is a carrier of joy, of intense disregard for everything a lingering melancholic consideration of a picture represents. Benni Korzen has chosen what are traditionally more difficult colors. Greens, oranges and pinks abound, more complex and less decorative, these bounce off the blacks and blues to heighten feelings of independence from the world of which they are composed from. The overall sense these colors deliver is of being apart from the whole and yet as interdependent on it as ever.
